Okay, I'm lost. Every once in a while the world does something that totally baffles me. Michael Jackson was a pedophile. I get it, yes, I really do. I liked Beat It same as everyone else. Thriller? Great video. That was twenty five years ago. Since then, Michael Jackson touched children and then paid them off to avoid law suits. Remember? There were all kinds of jokes and stuff. He got them drunk first on "Jesus Juice."
Pedophile.
So, how do I feel about pedophiles. What, for instance, are my feelings concerning what I might do if someone molested one of my children? What if that person died from a drug overdose? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't call for a period of national mourning.

I'm of the opinion the kid who came forward was forced by his parents for money's sake. The cops just wanted him to leave their county, so they went along with it.
Which kid? There was more than one. Plus, if there's this rampant scheme in which kids claim to be molested by rich people, why is it that only Michael Jackson gets hit by it? Besides, the guy admitted to getting the kid's drunk on Jesus juice. So, do we think that the guy who gets kids drunk is too much the moral paragon to molest them? Also, since when did we get the idea that rich people don't do nasty things. They do all the time. And people who were abused (possibly molested if Latoya is to believed) tend to carry out the same kind of behavior as adults. Nope, sorry. National day of mourning for a pedophile.
Mostly, though, I think it's just America and their inability to make ethical judgments. Even if there were 100% proof positive that he'd beaten and molested and murdered children, people would still now be saying, "yeah, but Beat It was sure a good song."
