Green with envy
Here's the weird thing. I don't really care that much about the environment. I care a lot more now that I have a kid to pass the world on to, but when it was just me...I didn't really care at all. Don't get me wrong. I didn't dump paint into rivers or anything, but I've never been over the top nature guy.
At the same time, I recycle styrofoam. No, seriously. I make things out of styrofoam and I sell them on Ebay. In fact, I can make things out of most bits of plastic packaging that is worth more than the thing that was packaged in it. Of course, I can only sell so much at one time and it takes some work and skill to turn a piece of styrofoam into a crazy alien bunker, but still. I recycle styrofoam. How weird is that?
Actually, I do more than recycle it. Because our nation's economy is in the crapper, most of my customers are in foreign countries. That means that not only do I recycle styrofoam, but I also export it. I export garbage for fun and profit to countries that are not suffereing economic ruin. I am the very model of a thriving industry (well...thriving might be a bit lofty but it does definitely work as an income supplement). So the next time you're throwing something out, think of me and how I could have turned that junk into real money.
Secretly I'm just trying to turn Europe into America's landfill.

"You want all of my styrofoam.... you want all of my styrofoam... You want ALL of my styrofoam..."
My comment is similar to intaki's... You want some extra junk??? Oh, man, could I hook you up w/ some household junk to export. In prep for my move westward, I've been trying to sell my life off on Craigslist & ebay. I like the ease of CraigsList for the big stuff. But, things sell so much better on eBay.
The funny thing is that I actually do have a pile of stuff I'm saving up to make cool things with. When am I going to make said cool things? No idea...
But I'm still saving the stuff... If I don't make something, maybe Monstro will...
