Freedom isn't free
Mmmm....
Does that mean that it's not available--as in, "I'll be free this Friday," or is it some kind of Orwellian term like from 1984 where, you know, happiness equals depression, truth equals lies, and freedom equals slavery?
I'm just curious. Could someone in the Country Western business give a shout back. I'm really trying to figure this out.

Well, the typical line goes, 'The Price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance.' There was a pretty radical pro-American book written about this... I forget the title.
Meaning that normal people must keep watch on the government, their neighbors, and everything to be sure nobody is subverting Freedom.
Biggest problem with this is that everyone is constantly subverting Freedom. Politicians find something that people don't like, act on people's fears of it, and create laws (popularly mandated) that subvert freedom.
Abortion, Euthanasia, etc.
