A quck note on the next post

I have come to the conclusion that when we talk about human nature, how people act, etc., we are quite often lying. To illustrate this point, I have been writing little vignettes from my own life. These are real people. They really acted this way.

I don't want to say that this is exceptional. For the most part, I think that everyone has had these kinds of experiences. My point is to simply give some of mine to add to the surplus of stories at large of how people really are and what people really are capable of.

There is a guy who works where I work. He is my immediate supervisor. He has no interests that I can discern other than: 1) watching television 2) reading books.

Not a bad pair of hobbies, I suppose. When trying to find out what he watches, I've discovered that he doesn't watch any cartoons. I get the feeling that he has never watched a cartoon in his life, which is the remarkable part.

When asking him about what he reads, he responds, "whatever my mom gives me that she's read." Ok, fair enough. Stephen King? Nope. Koontz? Nope. Fantasy? Nope. Sci Fi? Nope. Ummm.... ok. I think I saw him reading romantic pulp fiction the other day.

Does he party? He has always had a curfew. Apparently he stayed out past curfew, once.

How old is he? Twenty. Twenty years old and this guy's life is work, romantic pulp fiction, and television. Oh, and apparently he's built a few computers as well.

Ambitions? Doubtful. This guy wants to make enough money to live comfortably and has no other ambitions. This is the guy the couch was invented for. There's human nature for ya.
