Florida: Where the boys are

In my previous post I commented on the fact that the powers that be have managed to underestimate the intelligence of the average American and as such are likely to lose money at the box office, on the boob tube, and will most likely lose their control of congress. A side point: will a democrat controlled congress proceed with the impeachment and treason trials we've all been holding our breath to see? Just a thought.

B.S.U.W.G. commented that he hoped that I was right and sort of gave away that he felt I was saying that Americans are getting smarter. I would never say such a thing. They're simply not getting much money back for being stupid and as such are trying other courses of action. The underestimation that is made concerning American intelligence is only fallacious in that it assumes that Americans have the brain power of inanimate objects. Not so, I say.

And yet...

And yet there are still people voting republican. Worse still, there are still Bible thumping people voting Republican. Look, I've got nothing against homosexuality. Really. You're gay, you're not gay; who cares? I've got real shit to worry about. But these people who I'm talking about do care about such things. So...the Republican party seems to be trading in the flesh of teenage boys. They know about this, they trade aids between them, and they attempt to sodomize them. Tell me again how the Republican party is the party of the right wing, white ring, Christian fundamentalists? I mean, seriously, I don't get it. The leadership knows about the emails, the governor of Louisiana has commentary to make about the whole thing (how the fuck does he become involved!), and we're hearing about it--us! The dumbshit Americans who believe what they see on Fox news. Let me tell you, if you're republican, you get a whole army of people to cover up your shit. Hell Cheney shot a guy in the face. If we hear that this guy sent some emails, what actually happenned in the real world is that he probably sodomized the kid while reading scripture just like in those videotapes from Git-Mo.

My real problem with all this is that I'm a Christian too, or maybe I should say, I'm actually a Christian. I believe in peace and not judging people, etc.. But like these people I sort of believe in Hell. The difference is, it seems to me, their Hell is filled with poor gay well fare mothers. My Hell is filled with a bunch of people who heap riches on guys who trade in male sex slaves. Careful out there in Kansas--you people might want to read that book you keep thumping.

You forgot my favorite part of this tawdry tale -- the Florida ballots have already been printed, so anyone who votes Republican will have to mark the box next to the pedophile's name.

Thanks for clearing that up. It's good to know that you still think the average Americn is a bumbling idiot (esp. in the Midwest, of course).

Anyway, I'm 100% agnostic. But, that doesn't mean I'm without a sense of ethics and even, dare I say, spirituality.

But, back in my pre-agnostic days, back when my mother drilled scripture into my head 24/7, I seem to remember there being a part in the bible that said you're not supposed to kill 130,000+ people (so far) in some foreign country. That would be... bad, I think it said. I could be wrong, though. It's been a while since I've been to church.
