Cosby...Martyr
I discovered something today and I may be entirely wrong about this, but I think the Cosby theme song can be played over the song Biko by Peter Gabriel. What could this mean?
Well, folks what many of you don't know is that one of the Drivler and Avram's hobbies is to put words to popular TV theme songs that otherwise do not have words. It's true. I cannot make this shit up. I have yet to really hear one of their masterpieces but I have had it basically explained to me and one of their themesongs is... Cosby. Damn. I do believe that this calls for a remix.
Also, I do believe that either the Drivler or Avram ought to put mp3 versions of the songs on their blogs. If you're with me, bother them.

Now, are you talking about the theme for "The Cosby Show" or "Cosby" or "Parenthood"? Just trying to get my facts straight, here. :)

Problem is, there are several different versions of the Cosby theme. The tempo of "Biko" is roughly 90 beats per minute, while my version of the Cosby theme (the "Cosby Show" theme, that is) clocks in at about 105 BPM. If you want, I could use my mad recording skills to stretch the Cosby theme or speed up "Biko." Then again, the combination of Cosby and Peter Gabriel might undo all creation as we know it.
As for our versions of television theme songs, I can say without hyperbole that they are 1000 times better than anything ever before attempted in the history of musical composition. I'd be happy to put them on my blog but for two problems:
1. I have no way to put MP3's on my blog. That would require server space.
2. I might get sued for breaking copyright laws.
As the pretty one in this duo I realize I'm pretty much just eye candy, but I think our fans should know these many truths.
1. Drivel Baby SQuid Pro Quo has decided that I should add my musical talents to our presentation rather than just relying on how fabulous I look in sequined hankercheifs. I categorically rejected his suggestion for tranparent harem pants, so he actually taught me one whole "blues rhythm scale" and I have been practicing dilligently on the super Jade Green Guitar and RP-10 effects unit he gave me for my birthday. Once again, many thanks. With all the funky sounds the effects unit can make, it doesn't really matter what I play because it can be adjusted to sound like most of the experimental guitar of the 70's. Between the sequinned hankercheifs and simplistic echo guitar guitar effects of Pink Floyd and Ziggy Stardust, we should be good to go.
2. That I have no knowledge of how any one of the Cosby Theme Songs may or may not overlay on Peter Gabriel's "Biko." They were big scary men with grey suits and the lights were very bright. I know nothing, Nothing!! I tell you!!
But I like the idea and will be bothering Big Daddy Drivler constantly until we go into the studio and release at least 5 different mixtracks to find out. I feel safe to say that no harm will occur by combining these orchestral masterpieces, as each composition came from the talents of two truly amazing artists whose work can cause no evil. Other than Leonard Part 6 and Ghost Dad. Oh yeah, and the theme music to "Birdy." But these are easily avoided. My only thing I'm not sure about P. Gabriel actually wearing one of Cosby's famous sweaters. That might be tempting fate.
3. Our songs are certainly 1000 times better than say, Bill Cosby singing Biko, or "A Monster is Coming" by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Our failure to release our stunning 13 song debut album is due to two parts:
a}The Drivler hired a semi-trained knob monkey to work as our mixing board simian, and well, "creative differences" are still working their way out. The album's main tracks have been laid down, but further monkeying with the knobs, and perhaps more studio time to actually re-record "Magnum P.I." and "Knight Rider" may be necessary. Rest assured this project is still going and we should have an album out in no time. Drivler and I have no doubt that marketing our work as a "loving tribute album" will curtail any fights over copyright infringement. The hope is to direct market to our fans rather than quibbling over putting MP3 versions out on the internet. Frankly, we're worth it and that much better than Metallica.
b} oh yeah, and we can't release anything until we can find a ukelele player who can play Miserlou over the Magnum P.I. theme.
