Not, exactly, getting the message

According to the USA Today:

French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier used a news conference with Rice Tuesday night in Paris to repeat that France and the other European participants are committed to letting the diplomacy run its course [in Iran].

He said he had asked Rice for American "support and confidence."

Ummm....rrrr.....hmmmm......

So France is telling Rice that they are in diplomatic talks (talks which the U.S. did not join), and that we probably shouldn't bomb Iran.

Why do these people think that Rice is touring Europe anyway--a good will mission? She's just letting you know that the shit is going down. Europe, get your "diplomats" out of Iran or else you'll be getting video sent home of their heads being chopped off.

So sayeth the Rice.

As with many new stories the quote was taken out of context.

What France and the rest of the European dignitaries are looking for is American "support and confidence," but this is not for the negotiations that even they know are moot. It is a very specific request and requirements for some decent undergarments that will stand up to the loads of crap these dignitaries are unleasing within their pants over who we will be bombing for the hell of it next.

Normally, I don't much like anonymous--as he or she has many faces, yet only one name to hang the blame. But in this case, I agree with you 100%. But may I add: I keep thinking of this situation from Europe's point of view. Frankly, I don't care much about the middle East's view, and Israel seems to be taking care of itself...hopefully. But Europe. They have to be wondering what WE will do with a monopoly on oil. I mean, seriously, that's what we're going for isn't it? Do they assume that such power won't go to our heads? Why? Hell, they remember what happened with Germany and the infamous Polish land grab. Does anyone seriously think that they are not considering our nation in that light? Why not? Because we're not?

Whups. Sorry. For some reason Blogger felt I should be anonymous instead of my usual Grand Mucky self. I go as far out as possible to avoid anonymity -- force them to acknowledge you as an individual instead of a faceless, genderless blob. That way they can hunt your ass down and make it disapperate in the middle of the night.

I agree that the world already fears us with good reason. Call it "globalism" or rampant "Americanism," {which has replaced the word westernism - we is da west}but if we can't colonize your ideology, warp your values, and force what our corporations consider edutainment down your throat -- then we'll just have to bomb yah.
