For Amy- help

Don't worry. I don't think you're a horrible person and Jason concurs, so... My last few weeks have been high impact--Moby Dick, Mumbo Jumbo, Flight to Canada, and an actual flight to California. So...I've been busy. You are not the first to complain. You hear me Stevenson?!? Busy!!! We can't all go off to some cabin in the woods!

Nonetheless, on the plane I read Billy Budd and Bonito Cerino, so that class is very nearly done, and I am now significantly less busy. Which of course means that I can now write you back. In my attempt to do so, however, I realized something. I don't know where the last word is. What exactly am I responding to, and where is it? Help me out Amy. Help me help you.

Monstro,

'Tis definitely the season where we begin to disappear into our cells/caves in a frantic sprint to the end of the semester. I'm glad to see you've come out into the daylight, if only briefly. I myself have 3 seminar papers in 3 weeks on the slate...so I am in need of some help right now.

At any rate, the last response is at:

So, help me. Please.

P.S. I take it from recent reading list that you are writing on Melville. Fun stuff.

Monstro--

Glad you're back. What, were we a bit annoyed by my umpteen slurred messages on the recorder? Only because I miss you man.

About this whole post-modernist/nihilistic thing, I'll just let you Gods rage on high. After all, I'm not even sure where nihilism and re-canonization fit with New Historicism (arguably, a post-modern endeavor) in the arguments y'all are presenting. Then again, I'm human, all too human, and too little post-human.
